COMPREHENSIVE TECHNICAL PRODUCTION
Comprehensive technical production for events in Barcelona
Comprehensive technical production is the difference between “having audiovisual equipment” and having an event under control. It is not about adding equipment, but about unifying criteria: technical design + coordination + live operation + risk management so that the content, pace and staging work without friction.
At AVLife, we work as a technical production company with a B2B approach, especially in corporate and hotel environments where the venue’s operations (schedules, access points, rules, room changes) determine the real feasibility of the setup and the live event.
What “comprehensive technical production” is—and what it isn’t
It is: technical direction + coordination + technical execution under a single plan (before, during and after).
It is not: simply “providing equipment” or covering a single isolated service.
When the event includes presentations, scene changes, critical content (presentations/videos), screens, live production or multiple areas, comprehensive technical production avoids the typical scenario of “each supplier doing their own thing”.
When it’s a good idea (and when it isn’t)
It is advisable when:
- There is sensitive content (presentations, videos, demos, live broadcasts) and it cannot fail.
- The event requires pace (transitions, music, entrances, speakers, Q&A).
- There are screens / LED / live production / multicamera or a specific stage design.
- There are limited setup windows (very common in hotels and venues).
- Several suppliers are involved and you need a single technical approach.
If you only need specific equipment, you can visit our Rental page.
What we monitor to ensure a stable live stream
Technical direction and show calling
We define how the event is executed in real time: cues, transitions, entrances/exits, stage timings and coordination between operators (sound, video, lighting, cameras).
Content and playback without surprises
Control of final versions, naming, playback order, offline backups and change protocol. In corporate events, this is often the biggest risk point.
Visibility and understanding (not “wow effect”)
The technical objective is not “more”, it is “better”: speech intelligibility, real screen readability, coverage and visual consistency so that the message comes across clearly.
Contingency plan
We define what needs redundancy and how to respond to incidents without disrupting the pace of the event.
Our technical method
1) Design and technical implementation
We turn the event format into an executable technical plan: stage, workflows, requirements for each segment and venue constraints.
2) Pre-production and validation
We finalise documentation, content, signal requirements and rehearsals (if applicable). This is where 80% of live event issues are avoided.
3) Live operation and closing
Real-time coordination, change control and an organised close (dismantling, returns, deliverables).
Standard technical deliverables
Depending on the project, this usually includes:
- Technical briefing/rider
- Room plans (layout) and stage requirements
- Inputs list / patch / signal requirements
- Cue sheet / technical script (when there is showcalling)
- Rehearsal plan and setup/dismantling windows
- Content checklist + backups
Technical production in hotels and corporate venues (Barcelona)
In hospitality, technical production coexists with the venue’s operations. That is why, in addition to design, we coordinate:
- Access points and actual loading/unloading windows
- Schedule, noise and setup restrictions
- Use of rooms, changes and flows
- Communication with the venue/hotel’s internal team
Streaming and hybrid formats
If there is a remote audience, it should be treated as a separate operation (live production, audio, redundancies, connectivity and different risks).
FAQ
What is the difference between comprehensive technical production and audiovisual rental?
Rental provides equipment. Comprehensive technical production provides expertise, design, coordination and operation so that the event runs under control.
Does it include stage management or a showcaller?
When the format requires it, yes. It is key to coordinating cues, transitions and teams live.
Do you work with critical content (ppt/videos/demos)?
Yes: version control, testing, playback order and backups to reduce risks.
What do you need to prepare a quote?
Briefing (objective and format), capacity, space/venue if defined, approximate programme/rundown and content requirements.
Can it be integrated with event production?
Yes. In projects where AVLife handles the overall production, this block is integrated to ensure technical consistency. In others, it can be contracted as an independent technical block.
